EMS requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) applicants to complete a Live Scan fingerprint for first time certifications or certification renewals. AAA Live Scan is trusted by San Diego EMTs for certified, fast, reliable, secure and accurate electronic fingerprinting.

Below is some important tips for EMT Live Scans:

  • For renewals, provide EMS proof of application into the DOJ/FBI Live Scan system (unless grandfathered).

  • The correct live-scan application form is available at the County of San Diego EMS office or on the County of San Diego EMS website 
  • Bring the following documents to the Live Scan office:

Completed “Request for Live-scan Service’ application

– State or Federal issued photo identification (driver’s license, passport or DMV ID). 

Completing the forms accurately is important. We can help review the form and find obvious problems to prevent rejected fingerprint applications and worse yet, delays in your certifications or licensing. Please ensure the forms are filled out with the proper information and ask for help if you are not sure about any of the personal or professional information you are required to provide.  When in doubt please consult with the requesting agency or employer.
